Totally get it. Hong Kong dim sum is a thing, and the hype is REAL. Sometimes the legendary dishes live up to the legend, and sometimes...not so much. Happens all the time, even with the most famous places. Baked char siu buns are notoriously hit-or-miss, I've found. The har gow being amazing totally makes sense though; they're usually the chef's showcase item. You experienced the best of the best, so don't sweat the buns too much!

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
