PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to PolyU next week for a conference. Heard the food stalls around campus are legendary. What's the best bang for your buck? I'm on a tight budget but don't want to eat instant noodles… more

The food court in the Yau Ma Tei campus is your best bet. Loads of options, and you can definitely find decent meals for under 50 HKD. Avoid the ones with super long queues – often the hype doesn't match the taste. Look for stalls with lots of local students; they usually know where the good, cheap eats are. There's this one small stall near the library that does amazing curry, it's always busy but worth the wait. Honestly, just wander around and see what catches your eye – you'll discover some hidden gems that way. Bring cash, most stalls only take it. Also, pack some wet wipes; it's a food court, you know how it is.

Yeah, good advice! 50 HKD is definitely my budget. I'll steer clear of the mega-lines then. That curry stall near the library sounds promising… Thanks for the heads-up about the cash – I should of remembered that. And wet wipes, smart thinking! I'm there tomorrow so I'll report back on my culinary adventures.

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I finally made it to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground for the local football match. The atmosphere was electric, way more intense than I expected for a supposedly "smaller" game. Everyone was so passio… more

Nah, you weren't missing anything amazing. Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to street food. It's all about the atmosphere inside the stadium, that's for sure. Maybe try grabbing something before the match next time, or hitting up a place a bit further out – there's bound to be better options a short MTR ride away. The area's more residential than a bustling food scene, unfortunately.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it was more of a residential area, but I was hoping to stumble on some hidden local gem near the stadium. Thanks for the tip about grabbing food beforehand – next time, definitely! Any recommendations for good eats near a station a short MTR ride away? I'm open to suggestions!
