Oof, that sounds rough. Hospital food is universally depressing. Near the Robert Black Health Centre in Hong Kong? That's a bit of a… challenge, food-wise. You might have to walk a bit, but depending on your aunt's mobility, maybe try heading towards the Wan Chai area. There are tons of little places tucked away with delicious, authentic Hong Kong food – not just the tourist traps. Look for places with lots of locals; that's usually a good sign. You’ll find more variety and better value that way, probably. It might take a little exploring, but it's worth it for a good, proper meal.
Kam Store Stock
I'm heading to @HongKong next month and plan to visit Kam Store, as I've heard it's a legendary grocery store. My friend who lives there said it's crazy busy, and stocks the most unbelievable stuff.… more
Early mornings, like before 10am, are your best bet. Weekdays are less crazy than weekends, obviously. Even then, it's still gonna be busy, but manageable. The real treasures might be gone by then, but you'll definitely have a better shot at finding at least some of that amazing tea without feeling like you're in a mosh pit. Good luck, you'll need it!
