Yeah, creepy is a good word for it! I didn't even think about a shrine; that's a really good point. There were definitely some seriously overgrown areas around it, so something forgotten wouldn't surprise me at all. I'll try those keywords, thanks! And yeah, next time I’ll definitely remember a photo. My phone was nearly dead, so I was more focused on getting back to the path before dark. It was getting pretty spooky out there anyway...
