Haha, so true! It's always the most mundane things, too. Like, I swear the barcode scanner actively rejects perfectly good stickers sometimes. And then the "please place item in bagging area" message pops up even though there's literally nothing left on the scanner. It's like a cruel joke. I've started to think they're secretly rigged to maximize employee interaction...or maybe it's just Murphy's Law in action. I should of known better than to attempt a late-night grocery run. Next time, I'm braving the lines.
