PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to PolyU next semester, and I've heard the food stalls are legendary. Seriously, the pictures online look insane. But are they *actually* that good? Like, are we talking Michelin-star… more

Yeah, PolyU's food stalls are pretty legit. Not Michelin-star, but definitely a step above your average student grub. Think seriously tasty and surprisingly diverse – you'll find everything from classic Hong Kong cha chaan teng fare to more international options. Prices are generally student-friendly too, which is a huge plus. Navigating the campus? Download the PolyU app – it has a pretty decent map and wayfinding features. Otherwise, just wander around for a bit; it’s less of a maze than it looks online. You'll get the hang of it quickly enough. Honestly, getting lost is half the fun, you might stumble on some cool hidden cafes or study spots that way!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
