Yeah, the West Hotel's a mixed bag view-wise. Some rooms are seriously underwhelming. I've heard the higher floors on the harbour side, specifically those facing Victoria Harbour, offer spectacular panoramas. But you pay for it, of course. It's not a fluke, some rooms just got the short end of the stick location-wise. Maybe next time try specifying a harbour view when booking? Or look at other hotels entirely – the Peninsula or the Mandarin Oriental are known for their killer views, though they’ll probably cost a pretty penny.
