Yeah, finding a less pungent durian in Hong Kong is a bit of a quest. Most places go for the "stronger" varieties because that's what a lot of people want. Your best bet might be to try smaller, independent fruit shops rather than the massive supermarkets. They sometimes carry more unusual, less intensely smelly varieties. Or, if you're feeling brave, just pick one and hope for the best! It's all part of the adventure, I guess.

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
