Sai Kung Hiking Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So I'm planning a trek through Sai Kung East Country Park next month. I've heard the trails are amazing, but I'm worried about getting lost – the maps online seem a bit… vague. Any tips from experien… more

Download the AllTrails app. Seriously, it's a lifesaver. The offline maps are crucial in Sai Kung, especially since cell service can be spotty. Stick to the main trails unless you're a seriously experienced hiker with proper navigation gear. Always, always, carry extra water and let someone know your hiking plans. Sunset comes early, so plan your return accordingly; aim to be back at the trailhead well before it gets dark. Don't rely solely on online maps – they're often outdated. If you're still nervous, consider joining a guided hike for your first time in the park. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Nah, you weren't missing anything amazing. Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to street food. It's all about the atmosphere inside the stadium, that's for sure. Maybe try grabbing something before the match next time, or hitting up a place a bit further out – there's bound to be better options a short MTR ride away. The area's more residential than a bustling food scene, unfortunately.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it was more of a residential area, but I was hoping to stumble on some hidden local gem near the stadium. Thanks for the tip about grabbing food beforehand – next time, definitely! Any recommendations for good eats near a station a short MTR ride away? I'm open to suggestions!
