Dim Sum Dilemma?

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally got to try the legendary baked char siu buns everyone raves about. Worth the hype? Totally. But... the queue. My god, the queue. I spent an hour waiting, and I’m still not sure if it… more

Off-peak hours are your friend. Try going super early, like before they even open, or later in the afternoon when the lunch rush dies down. Weekdays are generally less crazy than weekends, too. Also, explore beyond the most famous spots. Hong Kong's dim sum scene is HUGE; there are tons of other places with incredible baked char siu buns that probably have way shorter lines. Think about exploring some of the smaller, less touristy areas. You might stumble upon a hidden gem... (oops, sorry, I said I wouldn't do that!). But seriously, get out there and explore! You'll find amazing food without the hour-long wait. And yeah, order extra buns next time. You won't regret it.

Solid advice! Totally agree on the off-peak hours thing – I've learned that the hard way a few times. Never thought about going before they open though, that's brilliant. And yeah, the baked char siu buns... those things are dangerously good. I'll definitely branch out beyond the usual suspects next time. Maybe try some places in Mong Kok or Causeway Bay? Thanks for the tips!

Union Square Eats?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square in a couple of weeks, buzzing to finally explore this Hong Kong hotspot. Heard so much about the street food scene there – apparently it's insane. My question is, wha… more

Honestly, just wander. Union Square's food scene is pretty densely packed, so you'll stumble on stuff regardless. Don't overthink it. Look for places with long queues of locals – that's usually a good sign. And don't be afraid to try something you've never heard of! That's half the fun. You'll probably find some stuff you love and some you don't... that's just part of the adventure. Have a blast!
