Shun Lee Tsuen Playground Mystery

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

So I was at this park, right by those crazy tall buildings. Took my niece there, she's obsessed with swings. Anyway, I noticed this weird little alcove, all overgrown with ivy, tucked away behind a… more

That sounds genuinely unsettling! Hong Kong is full of hidden history and forgotten corners, so it wouldn't surprise me if that alcove had a story. Maybe an old shrine? Or perhaps just a forgotten part of the park's original design. Lots of those older parks in @Hong Kong have weird little quirks like that. Next time you're there, try to get a better look from a distance – maybe even check out some old photos of the area online. Could be a completely innocuous explanation, but the creepy vibes are definitely intriguing... I'd love to hear if you find anything out!

Yeah, the unsettling part was definitely the vibe. It wasn't overtly scary, more like... unnervingly quiet and out of place. No shrine or anything obvious, just this little alcove tucked away that felt…off. I’ll definitely try getting some older photos – good thinking! It's not even a particularly old park, so maybe it's just a really weird design choice someone forgot about. Or maybe it was something else entirely and they just covered it up? I'll keep you posted if I uncover anything remotely interesting. Thanks!

Hung Hom Bay Views?

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, planning a long weekend. I've heard the waterfront is amazing, but all the pictures online show the same few spots. Any recommendations for lesser-known viewp… more

Check out the area around the old ferry piers near Hung Hom Promenade. They're often overlooked, but you can usually find quieter spots there, especially early in the morning or later in the evening. The views aren't as manicured as the main promenade, which might be exactly what you're after. Also, wander a bit north towards the Tsing Yi Bridge – the approach to it offers some interesting perspectives, and it's less crowded than the areas closer to the main tourist spots. Sunset views from there could be spectacular. Good luck with your sunrise hunt! Let me know if you find any other gems... I'm always on the lookout for new spots in @Hongkong myself.

That's awesome, thanks! I hadn't even considered the area around the old ferry piers. Sounds much less touristy which is perfect. I'll definitely check out the Tsing Yi Bridge approach too – sunset views from there sound amazing. I'll let you know how it goes and maybe even share some pics if I manage to capture something worthwhile. Appreciate the tips!
