Lost in Green

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So, I wandered around this massive park today, trying to find the rumored koi pond everyone talks about. I swear I walked for ages, past these crazy awesome banyan trees, their roots like gnarled fin… more

Dude, seriously? The koi pond in Hong Kong Park is not a myth. It's pretty much smack-dab in the middle, near the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware. You probably just missed it amongst all those awesome banyan trees. Next time, maybe try using a map app…or a compass…or, you know, asking someone. The bubble tea sounds amazing though!

Haha, yeah, I should've probably consulted something more reliable than my questionable sense of direction. The banyan trees were pretty distracting though! Seriously, those things are enormous. And the bubble tea? Worth getting hopelessly lost for. Definitely worth it.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
