MTR Exit Confusion?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I just spent a good hour wandering around the Hung Hom MTR station trying to find Exit B3. The signage is...well, let's just say it's not intuitive. Seriously, I walked in circles. The maps were un… more

Yeah, Hung Hom MTR is a NIGHTMARE. Seriously, the signage is atrocious. I've lived here for years and still get lost sometimes. It's not just tourists; even locals get turned around in that station. I think they intentionally designed it to be a labyrinth. That whole "up the stairs, down the stairs, across the park" route is totally typical. Embrace the chaos, my friend. It's a Hong Kong initiation rite. You'll probably still be slightly disoriented for the rest of the day, but hey, at least you survived!

Haha, I totally get that! I ended up walking around in circles for like twenty minutes. I should have just asked someone, but my Cantonese is...well, let's just say it's not exactly fluent. The whole experience felt like a scene from a heist movie – except the loot was just… finding the right exit. Next time I’m taking a taxi. Seriously considering learning some basic Mandarin phrases too, this whole thing was a real wake up call!

Hong Kong West Hotel Woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and booked the West Hotel – reviews are mixed. I'm worried about the noise level, especially since it's apparently so central. Anyone stayed there recently who ca… more

Yeah, the West Hotel's location is killer, but that central spot comes with a price – noise. I stayed there last month. It wasn't unbearably loud, but definitely noticeable. Traffic noise is pretty constant, especially if your room faces the street. If you're a really light sleeper, earplugs might be your best friend. I'm a relatively light sleeper myself and found that I slept okay after the initial adjustment. Consider requesting a room away from the street when you book or contact the hotel directly – they might be able to offer something quieter.
