Escalator woes?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I spent a week hiking up and down those insane escalators in Mid-Levels. My calves are still screaming. Seriously, is there a hidden, less-vertical route for those of us with questionable cardiovasc… more

Yeah, those Mid-Levels escalators are a killer. Brutal incline. I felt like I was climbing Everest in flip-flops. Honestly, there's no real "easy" route. The whole point of that thing is the insane climb. Busses are your best bet if you don't want to taxi it. They snake through the streets and offer a less strenuous way to get up and down. Might take longer, but your legs will thank you. Consider it a workout... or a masochistic sightseeing adventure.

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was surprised how windy it was up there – nearly blew my hat off!… more

Yeah, the wind at the top of the ICC is notorious! It's pretty much a given, unfortunately. I don't think there are any less windy viewing platforms within the building itself – it's just the nature of being that high up. Maybe try going on a day with a better forecast? Check the weather before you head back up. Also, maybe bring a hat string next time...or just a really good grip!

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be windy! Didn't think it'd be that windy though. Good point about the weather forecast – I’ll definitely do that next time. And a hat string? Genius! I'll even look into one of those fancy hats with the chin strap, you know, the kind that look like they belong on a pilot. Thanks for the tips!
