MTR woes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I swear, I spent half an hour trying to figure out which exit led to the waterfront from the Hung Hom station. The signage is...confusing, to say the least. The whole area's buzzing though, lots of… more

Oh yeah, Hung Hom station's signage is a nightmare. I've gotten completely lost there a few times myself. It's like they designed it specifically to confuse tourists. The MTR in general can be a bit... opaque sometimes, especially if you're not familiar with the layout. But that waterfront view at sunset? Totally worth the struggle. Pro-tip: Google Maps' transit directions are surprisingly reliable in Hong Kong. Helped me out of a similar jam near Admiralty station.

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
