Finding the Best Mangoes?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong and I've heard the mangoes there are amazing. I'm staying near a ParknShop, and figured that'd be my best bet for grabbing some fresh fruit. But with so many var… more

Honestly, ParknShop is a good starting point, but for really amazing mangoes, hit up a local wet market. They'll have a much wider selection and often better prices. Look for mangoes that are slightly soft to the touch, maybe even with a little give. Avoid any that are rock hard or have bruises. The smell is a big clue too – a ripe mango should have a sweet, fragrant aroma. And don't be afraid to ask the vendors for recommendations; they usually know their stuff and are happy to help. You'll probably find a few different varieties – the ones that are a bit more orangey-yellow usually have a sweeter, richer flavor, while the greener ones can be a bit more tart. Happy mango hunting!

Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to Hung Hom next week, planning on taking the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour. Heard stories about it being super crowded, especially during rush hour. My question is: what's the… more

Go early in the morning or late at night. Seriously, the difference is night and day. Rush hour on the Star Ferry is... an experience. Not a pleasant one. If you want the view without the scrum, avoid peak times. Plus, you'll get better photos with less people in them. Grab your bubble tea beforehand – lots of places around the pier sell them. Enjoy the ride!
