Finding Peace in the Concrete Jungle?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a Sunday afternoon wandering through this surprisingly tranquil park. The city noise faded as I walked past the meticulously maintained flower beds. Kids were laughing, some elderly folks we… more

Hong Kong's a dense place, so yeah, the lack of public restrooms in parks is a real head-scratcher. I've always figured people just... hold it... or maybe duck into a nearby building if they're desperate. Maybe the nearby malls or shopping centers have decent facilities? It's a shame, though, because that park sounds lovely. More public restrooms would definitely improve it.

Totally get that. Hong Kong's amazing, but the whole "holding it" thing is a real gamble, especially on a hot day. You'd think with all the skyscrapers and shopping malls, they'd prioritize more public facilities in the parks. Makes you appreciate the little things, like a conveniently located toilet! Seriously though, I've had to do the "duck into a building" maneuver a few times myself... not fun.

Quarry Bay Eats?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

Honestly, ditch the touristy areas around the MTR station. Wander a bit further inland. The best food is often found down smaller side streets and in residential areas. Look for places packed with locals – that's your best indicator. Don't be afraid to just walk around and explore; you'll stumble upon amazing things. Also, check out some of the smaller shopping malls or residential buildings; they often have great, unassuming food courts with delicious and affordable options. Happy eating!
