Totally get that. Downloaded maps are my new best friend after a certain... incident involving a goat and a very steep incline. Elevation changes are key; I nearly twisted an ankle last time because I underestimated how much uphill there was. Following other hikers is smart, too – herd mentality works surprisingly well in these situations, haha. Good advice on turning back – better safe than sorry, especially when you’re not sure what creepy crawlies might be lurking!
