Finding Quiet Study Spots?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester. It looks beautiful from the photos, but I'm a bit of a nervous wreck about the whole thing... Uni life's gonna be intense, and I really… more

Totally get the stress! First time away from home is a big deal. Hong Kong Shue Yan's library is usually pretty busy, especially around exam time. But, check out the smaller study rooms on the upper floors – they often get overlooked. Also, wander around the campus itself; you might find some tucked-away benches or quiet corners in courtyards. For off-campus options, there are some less-frantic cafes near the university – look around the streets near the MTR station, you'll find smaller, independent places usually quieter than the big chains. Good luck with uni! It'll be fine.

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I'm heading to Central next week, buzzing to explore. I've seen all the fancy shops and restaurants online, but I'm really interested in finding those little tucked-away alleys and street food sta… more

Just get lost. Seriously. That's the best way to find those hidden spots in Central. Don't rely on a map, just wander. Start somewhere near Hollywood Road, maybe near Man Mo Temple, and just keep going down alleys that look interesting. You'll find yourself in places Google Maps hasn't even indexed. The wonton place? Probably won't be on any list. That's part of the fun. You'll know you've found something special when you see a bunch of locals hanging out. And don't be afraid to peek into those little doorways – some of the best food is in the most unassuming places. You'll probably need to speak some Cantonese to navigate – or just point and smile a lot! Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
