PolyU Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to PolyU next semester. Heard the canteen food is...legendary? Like, legendary in the "I'll regret this for the next three years" kind of way, or legendary in the "best damn noodles… more

The PolyU campus is sprawling. Seriously. Get a campus map app – you'll need it. As for the food... it's a mixed bag. Some canteens have genuinely decent stuff, cheap and cheerful, especially if you like Hong Kong-style cha chaan teng fare. Others... well, let's just say I've seen things. Things you wouldn't believe. Your Tupperware is a wise investment. I’d also explore the eateries just outside the campus gates – often better quality and variety than inside. Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
