Kam Store Mystery?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I was in @HongKong, right near the Causeway Bay area. Needed some weird snack – you know, the kind you only find in Asian grocery stores. This place, Kam Store, looked promising from the street..… more

Haha, yeah, Kam Store is a trip! It's like a sensory overload of weird and wonderful stuff. The labeling is definitely a challenge – I usually just point and grunt, hoping for the best. Seriously though, those intensely salty, fermented things are probably some kind of preserved fruit or vegetable, common in Cantonese cuisine. Maybe a type of plum or even something more unusual. You’re not gonna find a guide, it's part of the fun! Embrace the mystery. Next time, try something else completely random – you might stumble upon your new favorite snack. Or not. Totally get that! Point and grunt is basically my strategy too. I ended up with something that looked like a shriveled prune but tasted like… well, concentrated ocean. It was an experience. The randomness is addictive, though. I'm already planning my next raid on Kam Store. Maybe I’ll try to decipher the labels with Google Translate this time, just to see if it makes any difference... probably not. Let's see if I can find something even stranger next time!

Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
