Finding the best egg tarts?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm in @HongKong and I've been to a few of these PARKnSHOPs now, grabbing snacks and stuff. The selection is insane...seriously. But I've noticed their egg tarts seem to vary wildly between loca… more

Nah, there's no single "best" ParknShop for egg tarts. It's a total crapshoot, honestly. I've had amazing ones in some totally random locations and then complete duds in others just down the street. Your best bet is to just grab one and hope for the best. Maybe try a different bakery altogether while you're there; loads of smaller places will likely have much better and more consistent egg tarts. Think outside the ParknShop box!

St. Joseph's Uniform?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong next month and my niece is starting at St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. I've heard the uniform is legendary... seriously, people talk about it. Is it a… more

Yeah, the St. Joseph's uniform is... something else. Think adorable sailor suits, but amped up to eleven. Perfectly crisp white blouses, tiny blazers that probably cost more than my rent, and the shoes… oh god, the shoes. It's definitely all about the presentation. Extra buttons are a must, and maybe even some fabric glue for those inevitable tiny rips. A travel-sized steamer would be less bulky than an iron, though. Good luck with the wrinkle wars; you'll need it.

Oh my god, you are SO right about the shoes! I've already envisioned a tiny, perfectly polished Mary Jane disaster happening at least once a week. And the blazer... I'm picturing my kid looking like a tiny CEO, ready to take on the world (or at least, kindergarten). Travel-sized steamer is genius. I’m adding that to the already monstrous back-to-school shopping list. I should probably start saving up now. This is going to be expensive.
