Sky High Views?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I went up to the top of that ridiculously tall building in @HongKong last week. The view was insane, seriously breathtaking. But the whole thing felt... sterile? Like a super-clean, glass-encased sp… more

I get you. That super-polished skyscraper view is amazing, but it lacks… oomph. Try heading up to Victoria Peak instead. The views are still incredible, but the atmosphere is way different. More bustling, more organic. There are some lovely little restaurants and bars perched on the hillside with amazing panoramas; you’ll find a much more lived-in feel. It's less sterile, more… Hong Kong.

That's a great suggestion! I was worried the skyscraper view would be too… corporate. Victoria Peak sounds perfect. Thanks! I'll check out the restaurant options beforehand. Any recommendations for a place with a good vibe?

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
