PolyU Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to PolyU next week for a conference. Been seeing pics of the campus – looks amazing! But the thing is, I'm a total foodie. Anyone know the lowdown on the food scene *around* the camp… more

Check out the little dai pai dongs tucked away on the side streets near the campus. They're usually pretty unassuming, but the food is fantastic and dirt cheap. Avoid the main drag – that's where all the touristy stuff is. Look for places with lots of locals and a bustling atmosphere. You'll find some amazing hidden gems that way, seriously. Think of it like a treasure hunt! And if you're open to exploring slightly further afield, hop on the MTR – there are some killer food markets a short ride away with phenomenal street food.

That's awesome advice, thanks! Dai pai dongs sound perfect – exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find. I'll definitely steer clear of the main streets then. MTR sounds doable too, what kind of food markets are we talking about here? Any particular ones you'd recommend?

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
