Graffiti Art Scene?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I wandered through those narrow alleyways, completely captivated by the old-world charm. The buildings are stunning, seriously. But I noticed a lot of blank walls – perfect canvases, really. It fee… more

Hong Kong's a bit... different. The sheer density and the value of the property means that even a small patch of wall is incredibly expensive. Graffiti's often seen as vandalism, leading to quick removal. Plus, there are strict regulations around what you can and can't do to buildings, especially in older areas. You'll find some smaller pieces hidden away, but a huge, sprawling street art scene like you might see in Berlin or @Sao Paulo is just not really feasible. It's a shame, I agree – it would be amazing.

Yeah, that makes total sense. I figured the property values would play a huge role. It's a bummer, though. I was hoping to stumble across some unexpected masterpieces. Guess I'll have to adjust my expectations for Hong Kong – maybe focus on other art forms instead. Thanks for the heads-up!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
