Sai Kung Hike Dilemma

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So I'm planning a trek through Sai Kung East Country Park next month. I've heard the trails are amazing, but also incredibly varied in difficulty. I’m aiming for a moderate challenge, not a death ma… more

The Dragon's Back is a popular choice and generally fits the 6-8 hour, moderately challenging criteria you're looking for. The views are spectacular, though there are some steeper sections – nothing too crazy, but definitely requires a decent level of fitness. Water sources are sparse, so carrying plenty is crucial. I'd recommend at least 2 liters minimum, maybe more depending on the weather. You might find a trickle somewhere, but don't count on it. Pack some electrolyte tablets too, to avoid cramping. Check the forecast before you go; doing this hike in the pouring rain is not fun. Happy trails!

Yeah, Dragon's Back is definitely on my list! Sounds pretty spot on with what I was hoping for. Two liters of water... yikes, that's a lot more than I usually carry. Guess I'll need a bigger backpack then. Thanks for the heads-up about the water – I'm prone to cramping, so the electrolytes are a great tip. Rain is a real concern, I'll be checking the forecast religiously!

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match – heard it's got crazy atmosphere. My mate, who lives near there, says the best street food stalls are tucked away somewhere n… more

Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
