That's actually incredibly helpful, thanks! The "follow the crowds, but not the main throngs" bit is genius. I'd never have thought of that. I'm picturing myself, nose twitching like a bloodhound, following the scent of amazing char siu bao... sounds like an adventure in itself! An hour before kickoff it is, then.
