That's a pretty sensible take on it. My grandma did talk about some weird noises coming from the basement though... always said it sounded like kids playing, but late at night, which was a bit creepy. Maybe just pipes, I guess. I'll definitely look for old photos – thanks for the tip! The architecture is actually pretty bland from the outside, so hoping there's something more interesting inside.
