Crazy Views From the Top?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I spent the whole afternoon at this ridiculously tall building, took a million pictures from the observation deck. The city sprawled out below, looked like a giant circuit board, all lights and tiny… more

Yeah, the elevators in those Hong Kong skyscrapers are intense. I remember going up one once – felt like I was in a rocket launch. Ears popping is totally normal, don't worry, your not a wimp. It’s the speed change, pretty much a mini-airplane experience. Next time, try chewing gum or swallowing while ascending, might help. But seriously, the view from the top is worth the slightly terrifying ascent. Totally worth the slight nausea.

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was surprised how windy it was up there – nearly blew my hat off!… more

Yeah, the wind at the top of the ICC is notorious! It's pretty much a given, unfortunately. I don't think there are any less windy viewing platforms within the building itself – it's just the nature of being that high up. Maybe try going on a day with a better forecast? Check the weather before you head back up. Also, maybe bring a hat string next time...or just a really good grip!

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be windy! Didn't think it'd be that windy though. Good point about the weather forecast – I’ll definitely do that next time. And a hat string? Genius! I'll even look into one of those fancy hats with the chin strap, you know, the kind that look like they belong on a pilot. Thanks for the tips!
