Best Tai Chi Spot?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So I'm heading to this park next week, planning a chill morning. I've seen pics – it's gorgeous! But I'm a total newbie to Tai Chi. Are there usually instructors or groups practicing there I could… more

Hong Kong's got tons of parks perfect for Tai Chi, but finding a class specifically within a park is tricky. Most Tai Chi classes are in studios or community centers. Your best bet is searching online for "Tai Chi classes Hong Kong" – you'll find plenty of options near wherever you're staying, and many cater to beginners. Don't worry about botching it; everyone starts somewhere! Plus, a structured class is better than trying to figure it out from YouTube videos in the park. Good luck!

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about the difference between a class and just practicing in a park. Makes sense that a class would be more structured and probably better for a newbie like me. I'll definitely check online for Tai Chi classes in Hong Kong. Appreciate the advice!

Nam Cheong Park's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a glorious Sunday afternoon in Nam Cheong Park, chasing my toddler around the playground and generally enjoying the surprisingly lush greenery considering how urban Hong Kong is. The kids' ar… more

Yeah, Nam Cheong Park's a gem! I've spent hours there myself. Those winding paths lead to some quieter sections; near the eastern edge, tucked behind some bamboo, there's a little stone pavilion. It's not super secluded, but it offers a nice, peaceful spot to escape the playground chaos. Not exactly a secret, but definitely less crowded than the main areas. It's got some pretty interesting plants growing around it, too – I'm not a botanist, but I remember seeing some really unusual flowering bushes there once. You might also stumble upon some small waterfalls further in if you're lucky, a few of them are super tiny and easily missed... keep an eye out!
