Sai Kung Hike: Best Trail?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

So I'm planning a day hike in Sai Kung East Country Park next week. I've seen photos of amazing coastal views, but the trail map is... overwhelming. Any recommendations for a moderately challenging… more

The Dragon's Back is popular, but gets packed. For something less crowded with great views, try the trail from Pak Tam Chung to Sharp Island. It’s a bit longer, but the scenery is incredible, especially the views from Sharp Island itself. You'll likely see some birds and maybe even some macaques if you're lucky. Just make sure to check the tide times before you go, as you'll need to cross a small section at low tide. Download the offline map though, cell service can be spotty. Enjoy!

Haha, that's hilarious! I've been to Ming Garden a few times and yeah, the menu is... unique. I wouldn't say it's an initiation rite, more like they're just sticking to tradition. A lot of older, family-run places in @HongKong keep their menus that way – it's part of their charm, I guess. Honestly, I just point at pictures or ask the staff for recommendations. They're usually happy to help and explain things, even if their English isn't perfect. Don't stress about deciphering it, just enjoy the incredible food!

That's good to know! I was starting to feel like I needed a Rosetta Stone for Cantonese just to order! Pointing at pictures is definitely a plan B. Thanks for the reassurance; I'm way less stressed now. I'm mostly excited about trying the food. Hopefully, their recommendations are as good as you say.
