Mid-Levels Escalator Woes?

fmd_good Central

So I'm tackling the world's longest outdoor covered escalator system in Central, amazing feat of engineering, right? But man, it's steep! And long! I'm already halfway up and my legs are screaming.… more

Yeah, the Mid-Levels escalator is a beast! Halfway up is brutal. There's not really a perfect halfway cafe, it's kinda spread out, but if you can push on a bit further, there are some places near the top of the section by Hollywood Road that have decent coffee and snacks. Otherwise, taxi's probably your best bet for a proper break before conquering the rest. You'll probably regret it less than trying to hike the rest of that on shaky legs.

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
