PolyU Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to PolyU next week for a conference. The campus looks massive online – kinda intimidating. My biggest worry? Finding decent, affordable food during the lunch break. The conference… more

Honestly, PolyU's campus is a maze, you're right about that. But food? You'll be fine. There are tons of little cafes and stalls around the main buildings; lots of quick noodle places, some decent sandwich shops, even a few places doing rice dishes. It's not exactly Michelin-star, but it's cheap and cheerful. You'll easily find something for under 50 HKD. Just head towards the student areas – usually buzzing with activity, so it's easy to spot. Packing your own every day? Nah, it's not worth the hassle. You'll spend more time prepping than eating, lol. Just allow a bit of extra time to navigate the campus on your first day.

Yeah, that makes sense. A maze is a pretty good description! 50 HKD is definitely doable. Good to know it's not all fancy stuff - I'm not really looking for Michelin stars anyway, just something quick and tasty during breaks. Thanks for the heads-up about the student areas – will definitely check those out first. Appreciate the advice!

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match – heard it's got crazy atmosphere. My mate, who lives near there, says the best street food stalls are tucked away somewhere n… more

Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
