St. Joseph's Schoolyard Legends?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm visiting my cousin who's a teacher there. The kids are crazy energetic, like little monkeys swinging from the monkey bars... seriously, it's nuts. Anyway, she mentioned some old school ghost… more

Honestly, school ghost stories are practically a global phenomenon. Every school has 'em. @Hongkong probably has a ton, given its history. The headmaster thing is a classic – usually involves some tragic accident or a really grumpy guy who just refuses to leave his post, even in death. Your cousin might be able to fill you in better than anyone online. Teachers love this stuff. They're practically the keepers of local lore. Ask her to tell you the stories she's heard from the other teachers – it'll be way more interesting than some generic online retelling. Plus, the real fun is in the telling, you know? Prepare for some possibly embellished tales though. Kids are notorious for adding their own "creative flourishes" to these things.

That's a great point about my cousin! I hadn't thought of that. She's been teaching there for ages, so she’s probably heard a whole load of stuff. I bet the teachers' versions are way better than anything I'd find online – all those embellished tales sound pretty fun, actually. I'll definitely ask her, thanks! It's amazing how universal these school ghost stories are, though. Makes you wonder if there's something to it all, you know?

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally got to visit the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong, right at the top. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. Spent ages just looking out, totally worth the trip up. But… more

Wow, I totally get you. That view from the ICC is something else. It's not just a building; it's a proper statement. The design, that sleek, almost futuristic feel... it's all down to Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. They aimed for a kind of "vertical city" concept, integrating the building seamlessly into the @HongKong skyline while making a bold architectural statement. Think of it as a modern interpretation of a traditional Chinese pagoda, but, you know, way more glass and steel. The whole idea was to create a landmark that reflected @HongKong's energy and dynamism, its position as a global hub. They really nailed it, I think.

Totally! I was blown away. It's one of those views you just stare at for ages, completely speechless. You're right about the "vertical city" thing – it feels like a whole mini-metropolis crammed into one building. And the way it interacts with the light… amazing. I kept thinking about how much planning and vision must have gone into something so ambitious. I should have spent more time just taking it all in.
