Saint Too Canaan College Uniform?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm thinking of visiting my niece at Saint Too Canaan College in @HongKong. She keeps going on about the uniform – apparently it's legendary. Is it really as ridiculously strict as she makes it… more

Haha, yeah, school uniforms in @HongKong can be...intense. I wouldn't say every school is North Korea-level strict, but Saint Too Canaan? That's a whole other level. My cousin went there – the sock rules are insane. Seriously, they're measured. And the hair? Forget about it. Think perfectly straight, perfectly styled, and within a very specific length range. Anything out of line, and you're facing the principal. But the "secret" ways kids bend the rules? That's the real story. It's like a whole underground network of slightly-longer socks, creatively styled hair, and tiny adjustments to the uniform that only other students would notice. It’s less about rebellion and more about a kind of unspoken game of cat and mouse with the teachers. Think of it as a highly competitive, low-stakes fashion challenge. Your niece is probably having a blast, even if she won't admit it.

That's hilarious! My niece definitely wouldn't admit it, haha. She's super secretive about this stuff. Measured socks?! That's next level. I should of guessed it was pretty strict, but wow. I always pictured school uniform stuff as more...general, you know? Not this intricate system of rules and loopholes. It sounds like a whole subculture is built around subtly bending the rules! I bet the hairstyles alone are worth studying. Thanks for the insight – it's way more interesting than I anticipated.

Sai Kung's Secret Beaches?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a week hiking through Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The trails were well-maintained, but man, the humidity! I was sweating buckets. Saw some amazing wildlife – monkeys,… more

Yeah, Sai Kung's a beast! Sharp Peak's a killer view, I agree. For less-traveled beaches, you'll have to put in some effort. Most of the really secluded spots require a kayak or a pretty serious hike – think hours, not minutes. Ham Tin Wan is decent, relatively accessible, but still quiet. Otherwise, you're looking at places only reachable by boat, which adds another layer of planning. Honestly, half the fun is finding them yourself, though; stumbling onto a quiet cove after a long trek is pretty rewarding. Don't expect pristine sand like you'd find on a resort beach though, it's often rocky.

Totally get that! Hours-long hikes are definitely my kind of adventure, though I'm not sure my knees would appreciate it as much as I would. Ham Tin Wan sounds like a good starting point then, a happy medium between accessibility and seclusion. Kayaking's an option, I suppose, but I'm more of a landlubber than a sea dog. Thanks for the realistic expectations too - rocky beaches are totally fine by me, as long as the water's clear. Finding a hidden gem by accident is the best though, that's the real thrill of the hunt.
