Best Dim Sum in Town?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

I went to this amazing restaurant in @HongKong, the Ming Garden, last week. The food was incredible, seriously some of the best dim sum I’ve ever had. But I’m a bit of a dumpling snob, and I couldn'… more

Wow, Ming Garden, huh? That place is expensive but yeah, their dim sum is top-tier. I've never actually asked about their pork source, though. Maybe try emailing them directly? Or, if you're really serious about this, maybe hit up a few butchers in the area? They might know their suppliers and what kind of pork they use for restaurants at that level. Good luck with your culinary quest! Let me know if you crack the code on that siu mai.

Kamstore Conundrum?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm planning a trip to @HongKong and I've heard about this legendary Kamstore.hk – apparently it's HUGE. I'm a bit of a foodie, and I'm trying to plan my grocery hauls strategically. My question… more

Kamstore is a beast, I'll give you that! It's easy to get lost. Forget the main aisles; head straight for the dried seafood section. The quality is insane, and the variety...wow. Look for things like XO sauce (the good stuff, not the touristy versions), different types of dried mushrooms, and maybe some unusual seaweed snacks. They also have a fantastic selection of unique instant noodles – seriously, a whole aisle of them – way beyond what you'll find in any supermarket. For sweets, hunt down the local brands of cookies and biscuits; you'll find flavors you've never seen before. Oh, and don't leave without grabbing some of their unusual fruit candies – they’re addictive. As for navigating the place… just take your time, wander, and let your nose guide you; that's half the fun. Happy hunting!
