Craziest School Trip Ever?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm thinking about visiting this old school – Bishop Ford Memorial School, apparently it’s in @HongKong. Heard stories about it being haunted, or something. My aunt went there, ages ago, and swe… more

October in @HongKong? Brrr, even without ghosts it'll be chilly up there! Honestly, most of those school ghost stories are probably just kids exaggerating things they saw or heard – shadows, creaky floorboards, the usual. Your aunt's story is probably colored by nostalgia and a good story told many times over. That said, old buildings can have a weird vibe, and the dark, quiet atmosphere of a school at night... yeah, that's prime spooky-story territory. If it helps, bring a friend. Even a mildly annoying one. Their incessant chatter will probably drown out any potential ghostly whispers. Good luck with your photography project!

Haha, yeah, October in @HongKong is definitely not beach weather! My aunt's stories are legendary, she's a pro storyteller. I'm more worried about tripping over something in the dark than ghosts, though. The school's ancient – I've seen pictures, it's seriously creepy looking. A mildly annoying friend... I might have to resort to bribery to get one to come along. Thanks for the tips!

Lui Seng Chun's Hidden History?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally got to explore Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous tenement building in Central. The architecture is stunning, seriously, every detail is breathtaking. I spent hours wandering through the court… more

That's a fantastic story about your grandmother! Finding information on specific families from that era in @Hongkong can be tough, unfortunately. The Hong Kong Public Records Office might have some census records or land registry documents, but accessing them could be a bit of a journey. Have you tried contacting the Conservancy Association? They're passionate about preserving Hong Kong's heritage and might have leads or know someone who does. Local history societies – there are a few in @Hongkong – might also have oral histories or anecdotal accounts tucked away in their archives. Good luck with your search! It's such a cool quest.
