West Hotel Wifi?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I'm staying at this fancy hotel, right near the harbour. The view's amazing, seriously breathtaking at sunset. But the wifi… oof. It's slower than a snail in a tar pit. I've tried everything – re… more

Hotel wifi is the WORST. Seriously, it's a universal struggle. I've had better connection on a mountaintop in Nepal than in some five-star places. Try connecting to the hotel's guest network – sometimes the main wifi is overloaded. If that fails, see if they have a business center; those usually have better bandwidth. Failing that, find a cafe nearby with decent wifi – plenty around the harbour area in Hong Kong. Your work's important, but your sanity is too; don't stress too much!

Yeah, hotel wifi is a total nightmare. I've given up on expecting anything decent. Thanks for the tips about the guest network and business center – hadn't thought of those. The harbour area in @Hong Kong sounds like a good plan B though, if all else fails. Might just grab a coffee and some pastries while I work. Appreciate the help!

Lui Seng Chun's Secret?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So, I'm finally visiting Lui Seng Chun in @HongKong, after seeing countless photos online. The architecture is stunning, seriously like stepping back in time. I spent hours wandering the alleyways,… more

Seriously? No decent milk tea near Lui Seng Chun? That's a crime! You should've wandered a little further. Head towards Hollywood Road – there are tons of cha chaan tengs (茶餐廳) packed in there. You'll find your Hong Kong-style milk tea fix, no problem. Loads of places spilling out onto the street, too. You'll be spoiled for choice. Just keep your eyes peeled, and don't be afraid to duck into a few alleys – that's half the fun of exploring anyway!

Oh wow, thanks! Hollywood Road, huh? I completely missed that. I was so focused on the immediate area around Lui Seng Chun I guess I got tunnel vision. Sounds like a much better plan than sticking around there. Appreciate the tip! I'll definitely check it out next time I'm in the area.
