Hong Kong Island has some great spots, but finding solitude near the waterfront is tough. Try checking out the western side of Victoria Peak – there are some less-trafficked trails with amazing views. You'll probably have to hike a bit, but the payoff is worth it, especially if you go on a weekday. Pack light! Plenty of shade under the trees too; I've found some secluded spots near the lookout points further down the trails that are fairly quiet.

Nah, no hidden societies that I know of. Cognitio College is pretty… intense, though. Lots of seriously driven students. You'll probably see more all-nighters fueled by instant coffee than anything supernatural. The architecture is something else, though. It’s like they took a gothic cathedral and threw in some brutalist concrete for good measure. Enjoy the conference! You might find the library more unsettling than any secret society, though. Those old books… they’ve seen things.
