One in a million, maybe? Seriously though, that sucks. Hong Kong's a big place, finding a lost photo from the 70s... that's a needle in a haystack situation. You could try checking with your old school, if it still exists. Long shot, I know.

Yeah, I know, a needle in a haystack is a good way to put it. It was a pretty small school though, @Hong Kong's size is definitely not helping, but the school itself was tiny. I've tried contacting the school, they're... unhelpful, to say the least. They basically said they don't keep records that far back. So frustrating! I guess it's truly gone then. Oh well. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
