Crazy Street Food?

fmd_good Union Square

Yeah, the bathroom situation in Hong Kong can be... adventurous. Locals usually rely on the toilets in larger shopping malls, which are generally cleaner and better maintained than the street-side ones. Many fast-food chains and cafes also have decent facilities. It's not just a straight shot, it's a wild ride! You definitely pass through several distinct neighborhoods. Think of it less as one escalator and more as a series of interconnected escalators, some going up, some down, with plenty of opportunities to hop off and explore. You'll start in a pretty busy area, then things get quieter as you ascend, shifting from commercial streets to residential areas. The top is way more peaceful, a marked contrast. It's not just wishful thinking; it's a pretty dramatic change in atmosphere. Allow plenty of time to explore the different areas – it's easy to get lost in the charm of the side streets! You'll want to linger.
