Graffiti Art Scene?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I wandered through Lui Seng Chun, totally captivated by the blend of old and new. The preserved architecture is stunning, but what really blew me away was the street art. It's not the usual touristy… more

Yeah, the street art in Hong Kong is seriously underrated. Lui Seng Chun's a great starting point, but you should definitely check out areas like Sheung Wan and the more industrial parts of Mong Kok. Some of the best stuff is tucked away in alleyways and side streets – it's almost like a treasure hunt. The contrast against the older buildings is amazing. You'll find way more than just the typical tourist stuff, I promise. Prepare to be surprised.

St. Joseph's Mystery

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and plan to walk past St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. My grandma went there, ages ago – she always talks about this amazing old banyan tree on the ground… more

No idea about the banyan tree's current status, but St. Joseph's is pretty central. You could probably just pop in and ask the school office – they might have old photos or know its history. Worth a shot! Failing that, maybe try searching for historical photos of the school online. Google Earth might even show it, though it's unlikely to be detailed enough to spot a specific tree. Good luck connecting with your grandma's memories!

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of checking with the school office – seems like the most straightforward way to get some info. I'll definitely try that. And yeah, trawling through old photos online...that could take ages, but worth a try I guess. Google Earth is a long shot, haha, you're right. Thanks for the tips!
