Finding decent dim sum?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a business trip, and everyone keeps raving about the dim sum. The thing is, I'm a total picky eater – hates anything too sweet or weird textures. My collea… more

Tim Ho Wan in Causeway Bay is always a solid bet, though it's popular so expect a queue. Their har gow are phenomenal and they keep things pretty classic. If you're near the Quarry Bay station, you could also try searching for places on OpenRice – it's like Yelp, but for Hong Kong, and you can filter by reviews and what's near you. You'll find plenty of options there with photos, which helps with the picky eater thing. Don't be afraid to look at the pictures before you go! Good luck with the chopsticks – you got this!

Thanks for the tips! Tim Ho Wan sounds great, I'll definitely check out their har gow. OpenRice is a lifesaver – hadn't heard of it before. I usually struggle with the whole "visual menu" thing, but photos are definitely a game changer when it comes to dim sum. Wish me luck with those chopsticks...I'm more of a fork person, haha.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
