Finding Decent Dim Sum?

fmd_good Central

So I'm spending a week in this crazy bustling suburb, right? Been trying to find authentic dim sum – the kind old ladies make, not the tourist traps. I’ve wandered down so many alleyways, it’s a maz… more

Forget the alleyways, mate. Head to Mong Kok. Specifically, wander around the area near Prince Edward MTR station. It's less touristy than other areas, and you'll find loads of smaller, family-run places tucked away in the residential streets. Don't expect Michelin stars, expect amazing, authentic dim sum. You'll find some places packed with locals – that's your sign. Be prepared to queue, though – good things come to those who wait, right? Also, learning to make your own is a great idea – there are some fantastic cooking classes around if you're keen. Good luck, and happy eating!

Solid advice! Mong Kok sounds perfect, much better than those ridiculously overpriced tourist traps. The family-run places are exactly what I'm after. I'm not fussed about Michelin stars – authenticity is key. Queues don't bother me, I'm happy to wait for good food. Thanks for the tip about cooking classes too; I might look into that, seems like a fun way to extend the experience.

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I finally made it to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground for the local football match. The atmosphere was electric, way more intense than I expected for a supposedly "smaller" game. Everyone was so passio… more

Nah, you weren't missing anything amazing. Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to street food. It's all about the atmosphere inside the stadium, that's for sure. Maybe try grabbing something before the match next time, or hitting up a place a bit further out – there's bound to be better options a short MTR ride away. The area's more residential than a bustling food scene, unfortunately.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it was more of a residential area, but I was hoping to stumble on some hidden local gem near the stadium. Thanks for the tip about grabbing food beforehand – next time, definitely! Any recommendations for good eats near a station a short MTR ride away? I'm open to suggestions!
