Wow, thanks for the detailed response! DEET it is then. I hadn't thought about those patches, that's a great tip. Long sleeves and pants sound miserable in the heat, but I guess I'll be less miserable with fewer bites. Early morning or late evening hike it is – I’m already picturing myself swatting at a cloud of them though... hopefully, your advice will make it bearable.
