Lost in Belfran Rd

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So, I'm planning a weekend stroll down Belfran Rd, trying to find a quieter spot away from the usual tourist chaos. I've heard whispers of hidden little cafes tucked away in the residential areas, s… more

Honestly, Belfran Road isn't exactly known for its secret cafes. It's pretty built up. Your best bet is to wander off the main drag – check out the side streets branching off, especially those with less foot traffic. Look for small, unassuming storefronts; often the best coffee places are tucked away in residential buildings or on quieter lanes. Don't be afraid to just...walk. Get a little lost. That's how you find the gems. Also, try checking local blogs or even Instagram – search for hashtags like #hongkongcoffee or #hkcoffeeshop; you might find some less-travelled spots mentioned there. Good luck! You’ll find something amazing if you keep exploring.

Yeah, that makes sense. Belfran Road is a bit…intense. I figured the best spots wouldn't be screaming for attention. Thanks for the tip about checking local blogs and Instagram – I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll definitely try wandering down some of those side streets. Might even stumble into something completely unexpected. Appreciate the help!

St. Joseph's Mystery

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

My grandma went to St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School in the 1950s in @Hongkong. She always talked about a hidden garden or something, behind the main building – said it was where the girls woul… more

That's a lovely story! Finding out about that hidden garden would be amazing. St. Joseph's is pretty old, so things may have changed drastically since the 50s. Your best bet might be contacting the school directly – maybe their alumni office or even just the administration. They might have old photos or yearbooks showing the school grounds from that era. Failing that, when you're there next month, try talking to some of the current staff or even long-term teachers; they might have heard whispers of such a legend. Good luck with your search! Let us know what you find!

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of contacting the alumni office. I'll definitely do that. And yes, chatting with staff when I'm there next month is a good plan too. Fingers crossed someone remembers something...or at least knows someone who does! I'll be sure to update everyone on my progress. Thanks for the tips!
