Yeah, Sai Kung mosquitoes are legendary. DEET is a joke out there, honestly. My grandma swears by this local herbal spray – you can find it at most smaller pharmacies, it's usually in a little brown bottle and smells like… well, herbs. Strong stuff, though. It's not pretty but it works way better than anything I've ever used from the West. Also, timing is everything. Go early morning or late evening when they're less active. And seriously, a mosquito net for your head might not sound glamorous, but it's a game changer. Good luck, you'll need it!

Nah, it's just old wiring. Seriously. Hong Kong's infrastructure is... well, it's Hong Kong. Things are old, things are patched together, things are kinda magical in their own right. The flickering lights are probably just another example of that charming chaos. You'll get some cool photos, though. Maybe even some genuinely spooky ones if you get a good angle and play with the shadows. Don't worry too much about it – unless you actually see something else flickering... then maybe bring that friend. And maybe a flashlight. And maybe consider leaving the camera at home. Just sayin'.
