Hit up a local wet market. ParknShop is great for everyday stuff, but for truly authentic durian, you gotta go where the locals go. Those places will have the real deal, the pungent, intensely flavorful kind. Be warned, though – it’ll probably be a LOT cheaper than anything you'll find in ParknShop, but the selection might be more limited, depending on the season. You might also find some seriously bizarre fruits you’ve never seen before... totally worth it for the durian hunt though!

Haha, yeah, Kamstore is a beast. I once spent 45 minutes looking for black sesame seeds. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES. I swear, they stock everything imaginable, and then some things you can't even imagine. I've given up trying to be efficient there; I just wander and see what treasures (or terrifying dried things) I unearth. Embrace the chaos! It's part of the experience.
