Finding Quiet Study Spots?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So, I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester. The campus looks gorgeous in the photos, but I'm a bit of a hermit when it comes to studying. Are there any tucked-away, relatively qu… more

Honestly, HSYU's campus is surprisingly spread out. You'll find pockets of quiet if you explore. The library's upper floors are usually less crowded, especially during off-peak hours. There are also some smaller study rooms bookable – check the student portal for details. Beyond that, wander around the buildings – some of the less-trafficked corridors near the admin buildings can be surprisingly peaceful. Don't be afraid to just walk around until you stumble on a spot that vibes with you. Good luck with your studies!

That's great advice, thanks! I hadn't considered the admin buildings – always assumed they'd be busy. I'll definitely check the student portal for those study rooms; booking ahead seems smart. Exploring the campus more sounds like a good plan too. Sometimes the best study spots are the ones you accidentally discover. Appreciate the help!

Escalators to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central next week, and I've heard about those crazy long escalators. Are they really as epic as everyone says, or is it just a tourist trap? I'm picturing a Blade Runner-… more

They're pretty awesome, actually. Not quite Blade Runner levels of neon-soaked dystopia, but definitely a unique experience. It's a long, covered escalator system winding its way up the hillside. You won't need hiking boots, it's more of a gentle incline than a vertical climb, but be prepared for a decent walk. The views are fantastic, though – totally worth it. And yes, plenty of cool little eateries along the way to fuel your ascent. You'll have a great time.

Wow, that sounds amazing! A covered escalator system? That's so much cooler than I imagined. Definitely adding this to my list. Gentle incline is perfect, hate strenuous hikes. Thanks for the heads-up about the food stalls too – I'm always hungry. Seriously, sounds like a must-do.
