Yeah, those koi ponds are awesome! I've seen them too. It's mostly about keeping the ecosystem balanced. Feeding them throws things off – too much food leads to algae blooms, which can suffocate the fish and foul the water. Plus, the bread isn't great for their diet; it can make them sick. It's not just about tidiness, it's about their health and the health of the whole pond. So yeah, admire them from afar. They're beautiful enough without the bread.

That's a really good point about the development. I hadn't considered how much that would've erased any physical evidence. I guess the atmospheric approach is probably more realistic, then. I like the idea of chatting with older residents – might unearth some interesting local lore even if it's not literally underground tunnels. Thanks for the practical advice!
